Expressions of Faith
Our Expressions of Faith Initiative engages faith-based organizations in providing household items for clients from our Family Emergency Shelter and Grace House and Freedom House substance abuse treatment programs for pregnant and parenting women. Items such as bedroom and bathroom linens, toiletries, and cleaning supplies are needed to fill both welcome baskets when families arrive at our programs, and transition baskets when they exit to their own housing. We invite faith-based groups to support this much-needed effort for families we serve.

Stop HIV in the 'Ville
Women account for about one in four new HIV cases in the Louisville community each year. Of these newly infected women, about two-thirds are African-American. Volunteers of America of Kentucky and the Council on Prevention and Education: Substances, Inc. (COPES) have partnered to develop the Stop HIV in the ’Ville campaign, an effort to educate African American women in the Louisville community about HIV and AIDS. Our goal is to stop the spread of the disease and link infected persons with counseling, care coordination, and other resources.- View more ...
