21st Annual Gingerbread House Contest, Breakfast and Auction Volunteers of America of Kentucky  December 5, 2008  8:00 a.m. Lexington Downtown Hotel (Formerly the Radisson Plaza Hotel)

The Gingerbread House Contest and auction remains a Lexington holiday tradition. Hundreds of community members bake and buy gingerbread houses that ultimately provide real housing to homeless families with children in the Lexington-Fayette County area.

The contest is free and open to all who wish to enter. Gingerbread houses will be judged on creativity, theme and construction.

Houses will be displayed at the Lexington Downtown Hotel November 25th - December 4th. The display is free and open to the public. The display will culminate in a Gingerbread House Breakfast Auction. Local businesses, organizations and individuals will bid on the houses in a live and silent auction. Tickets are $25. A table of 10 may be purchased for $250.
