Through the services we provide in Kentucky, lives are touched, individuals are empowered and a dream of a future where all persons have an opportunity to reach their potential becomes more than a dream.  It becomes HOPE.

Sisters huddled together Throughout the state of Kentucky, Volunteers of America serves homeless children and families, empowering and supporting them to move to self-sustainability providing shelter and services along a continuum leading to stable housing, employment, education and self esteem.

We assist individuals, including veterans of our nation’s armed services, who are recovering from addiction to controlled substances who come to us for help

through a network of referrals including the corrections system.  In therapeutic, residential settings, Volunteers of America’s highly qualified team of professionals provides support and services to these individuals, ultimately leading to personal independence and dignity.

Similarly, as Kentucky’s largest Care Coordinator for individuals with or at risk of HIV/AIDS, we connect vulnerable and at risk children and adults with necessary community services so that they may make healthy choices and live safely and independently.

We also serve the elderly and the mentally ill in Kentucky, providing decent, affordable housing and services to a population that, because of Volunteers of America, will live in supportive community with access to services and resources they would otherwise be unable to afford.

Whatever their circumstances, when a person comes to us, Volunteers of America in Kentucky focuses on the individual, assessing needs and empowering all whom we serve.   Wherever there are people in need, Volunteers of America will be there, extending a smile and a helping hand.
