​Keith R. Knapp, PhD, CNHA, HSE, FACHCA, CNA

Keith R. Knapp, PhD, CNHA, HSE, FACHCA, CNA, is Associate Professor & Chair of the Department of Health Services & Senior Living Leadership at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. He has served in leadership roles with aging service providers since 1980, most recently as the CEO/President of Christian Care Communities, Kentucky’s largest faith-based provider of long term care and senior services. Dr. Knapp has chaired the boards of the American College of Health Care Administrators, the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards and its affiliated Foundation, Leading Age – Kentucky and the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Long Term Care Administrators. He holds a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Xavier University, and both a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Sciences and Ph.D. in Gerontology from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Knapp is a Licensed (KY) and Certified (ACHCA) Nursing Home Administrator, Health Services Executive (NAB) and State-Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (KY), as well as a Fellow of ACHCA. The recipient of numerous national, state and local awards in recognition of his advocacy for improving professional standards in the field of elder care, Dr. Knapp is widely recognized by peers as a thought leader and change agent. He and his wife, Jane, live in LaGrange, KY.
